MyNeoSpace has taken extra precautions in guaranteeing the safety of its users.
We understand that the site will attract many young people.
When you register for MyNeoSpace, we ask a few, simple required fields;
Email Address - this is used as your login and also is used incase you need to request a new password.
Neopets Username - this is used so your friends and others can identify you. After all, this is a "MySpace for Neopets."
Choose a Password to use on MyNeoSpace - your password is only used for logging into your account.
You do NOT have to enter the same password as your Neopets account.
In fact, we highly suggest you never use the same password on different sites.
Favorite Neopet - Just a fun feature that gives a little personality to yourself.
There are also some non-required fields that you may fill in (These are NOT required);
First Name - Used for your own personal reasons. This will never be displayed on the site without your permission.
City, State, Postal Code - These are all used for the "Browse" feature that is on the MyNeoSpace website.
These are used to search for people who are similar to yourself.
Gender - Used to identify the sex of a user. If not chosen, it automatically sets the gender as "Female."
Date of Birth - Used to show the age of a person on the website. If you do not fill this in, it automatically sets your age as 2 years old.
No sort of personal information is ever grabbed from you, the user without your consent.
Here are some steps that we have taken to prevent unauthorized access into your accounts with both, MyNeoSpace and Neopets:
No Javascript to be placed by the user - "Cookie Grabbers" cannot be placed anywhere on the website by any users. This includes profiles, forums, groups, etc.
Moderators - We typically have Moderators on all day throughout the day who can take care of problems within 10 minutes.
This includes deleting users, banning them, deleting certain groups, posts and profiles we deem as inappropriate.

A lot of people have been talking about a website called [link removed; basically a personal information website aimed at Neopet players]. I was just wondering if you (www.neopets.com) were in any way affiliated with this website? I thought you might be, since the site uses quotes such as "a place for Neofriends" and "enhance your Neopets experience." I thought you guys (The Neopets Team) were totally against posting VERY personal information and photos on your website. Please get back to me soon, since many people have been asking this as well. ~lykomg__
We are NOT affiliated with this website in any way. We are very much against posting personal information and/or pictures and encourage people not to for a variety of safety reasons. It's actually a bit scary how easily just a small bit of information posted on the Internet can be used to personally identify you. If you have signed up for this site, we'd just ask that you think very carefully about the information you post there. If you're younger, please, please make sure your parents are okay with it. It's also a given that the email address or password you use there should not match the same information you have on Neopets.
Yes, we do agree with them 100%. That is why this information is completely optional and up to you, the user to enter in if you wish. Your safety is important to us and MyNeoSpace was created so that Neopets users would have a funner, different, and effective way of communicating with other Neofriends and simply making new ones.
Now let me go into another topic: Cookie Grabbers.
Many people are saying this whole site is a scam and a cookie grabber.
- First off, if this whole thing was a scam and a cookie grabber, it would have been shut down by now.
- Secondly, if it was a cookie grabber, your stuff would have been stolen by now, right? Is your stuff still in your account? Yes? Great!
- Thirdly, this site requires a login. Cookie grabbing sites DO NOT need a login. Your password is encrypted into our database with all of the latest technology so that even us at MyNeoSpace cannot view it.
- Fourthly, if you are so inclined: view the source of MyNeoSpace. Name one questionable coding. You can't. Everything is safe.
Everybody needs to stop spreading rumors that this site is just a scam to get into your Neopets account. We understand that there are many types of scams out there. This is just not one of them. We are receiving hundreds of members daily. That wouldn't be the case if this was one big scam.
If at any time you feel unsafe about this site or wish to stop using it, we allow the deletion of accounts, which there is a link to right after you login.
